Description
The basilisk is a large, serpentine creature with a deadly gaze and highly venomous fangs. Created through dark magic, it is considered one of the most dangerous beings known. Its behavior is not naturally evolved but strongly influenced by its creation, making it difficult to control and prone to instinctive aggression. The fangs of a basilisk contain an extremely potent venom, renowned in the magical world for its destructive power. This venom not only affects the body but can also permanently damage or dissolve magical substances. As core material, a basilisk fang is extremely rare and difficult to work with. The magic it contains is direct, penetrating, and designed for effect. It shows little restraint and reacts particularly strongly to aggressive or decisive spellcasting. At the same time, it is difficult to control and unforgiving of mistakes.
A basilisk fang as core material is not neutral, but always directed. The magic is immediate and focused on effect, without detours or mitigations. This is clearly evident in a duel: spells take effect quickly and penetratingly, often with a finality that other cores cannot achieve. At the same time, any form of restraint is lacking. Healing applications are therefore practically impossible, not because the execution would be imprecise, but because the underlying orientation is incompatible. Stability is limited – the material does not maintain a clean line when the guidance becomes uncertain and tends to amplify errors rather than mitigate them. In areas such as charms, performance remains correspondingly weak, as fine-tuning and controlled nuances are not supported. In use, it quickly becomes apparent that this core is not designed for bonding. Loyalty is low and must be constantly maintained through clear, consistent guidance. Simultaneously, the temperament is not mercurial, but constantly tense – the reaction does not stem from whim, but from the fundamental orientation of the material. The strong affinity for darker applications is not a side effect, but a defining characteristic: the core doesn't resist them, but rather works in this direction. Nonverbal magic and transformation occupy a middle ground, but remain heavily dependent on the magician's inner attitude. Overall, the material is not versatile in the classical sense, but focused: it delivers results, but demands a mastery that allows no room for uncertainty.
