Description
Dragons are large, fire-breathing reptiles found in various species worldwide, such as the Hungarian Horntail or the Norwegian Thornback. They are highly territorial and difficult to control. Their behavior is direct and reactive: a dragon attacks when threatened and retreats when there is no cause for alarm. Dragon heartstring is harvested from the dragon's inner tissue after its death and is considered one of the most powerful core materials known. A dragon's magic is distinct, swift, and often intense. It responds immediately to the will of its wielder but can also produce impulsive results if the wielder is unfocused. Dragons do not form strong bonds with individuals but respond to strength and consistency. Accordingly, their essence is usually used by magicians willing to exercise firm control. Their magic is versatile but shows a clear tendency toward powerful and direct effects.
Dragon heartstring is not worked cautiously, but with clarity. The material reacts quickly and directly, often even before a wandmaker has fully formed the idea. This directness makes it so reliable in duels: the execution is powerful, precise enough, and above all, immediate. At the same time, it lacks any form of gentleness—it is hardly suitable for healing work, not because it fails, but because the necessary restraint simply doesn't come naturally to it. Its stability is solid, but not exceptional; with clean handling, it remains controllable, but it forgives no sloppiness. Those who work without concentration will not achieve weak results, but rather exaggerated ones. As for bonding, dragon heartstring is predictably pragmatic. It does not follow a wizard out of conviction, but responds to consistency and assertiveness. Loyalty is present, but not deeply rooted—it must be cultivated, not earned. Its temperament is noticeable, but not unpredictable in the true sense: its impulsiveness arises from speed, not from whim. In areas like transfiguration or charms, it works reliably, though it doesn't offer much fine-tuning, and nonverbal magic requires precise handling, as the fiber provides little balance. Overall, it's a core material for wands that demand clear control – not unruly, but not forgiving either.
