Description
The European hornbeam is widespread in Europe and Western Asia and typically grows to a height of 15-25 m with a trunk diameter of 0.6-1.0 m. Its thin, grey bark remains smooth to finely ribbed, and the wood is whitish to pale yellowish-brown. With a density of around 735 kg/m³, it is very hard, tough, and resistant to pressure, with a fine texture and usually straight grain, but it is considerably more challenging to work than beech.
Hornbeam is a wood of vision and unwavering principles. It quickly becomes personalized, almost as if it absorbs its owner's handwriting with unusual speed. This closeness is not a superficial effect, but a profound process: hornbeam aligns itself not only with the magic of its bearer, but also with their attitude, purpose, and inner order. It usually seeks people with a clear vision, a strong ethos, and a goal that isn't renegotiated at every dissenting voice. Often, this is underpinned by a form of focused passion that may appear outwardly as stubbornness, but in reality stems from inner conviction. Hornbeam reliably recognizes this alignment and preferentially bonds with such personalities. Its nature manifests in close connection, high precision, and a pronounced ability for the silent, direct guidance of magic.
