Description
The European larch originates from the mountains of Central and Southern Europe, but is widely planted and grows to a height of 25–45 m with a trunk diameter of 0.6–1.0 m. Its thick, fissured, grey to reddish-brown bark contrasts with yellowish to medium reddish-brown wood. With a density of approximately 575 kg/m³, larch wood is moderately elastic, tough, and relatively durable; the clearly defined, sometimes spiral grain works well, although resin can be a nuisance.
Larch wood possesses warmth, strength, and a pronounced sense for hidden potential. It appears approachable, almost friendly, yet behind this openness lies a clear expectation: development. This wood recognizes abilities long before they are consciously used and reacts particularly strongly to what is still in its infancy.

It often finds its way to people who are capable of more than they themselves believe. Initially, this often manifests as reticence or insecurity, not from a lack of talent, but from a lack of confidence in their own effectiveness. Larch intervenes precisely here. It doesn't amplify blindly, but purposefully—as if it were making visible possibilities that were previously only hinted at.

Its nature reveals itself in growing assertiveness, versatile magic, and a palpable capacity for development. With increasing connection, the magic becomes clearer, more stable, and more effective. Especially in finely tuned spells and in transformation, it unfolds a quality that doesn't rely on brute force, but on precise guidance and inner trust.

Larch, however, does not remain a passive tool. It demands participation. Those who surrender to it without growing themselves will only partially unlock its potential. Its difficulty lies less in technical leadership than in the willingness to embrace change and take responsibility for one's own development.

Over time, this connection develops into remarkable stability. What initially seemed uncertain gains clarity and weight. Spells work more reliably, decisions are made more calmly, and one's own magic appears less accidental and more consciously guided.

Larch doesn't make anyone great who isn't capable of it. But it recognizes greatness early – and brings it to light, often long before its bearer is ready.
