Description
The London plane tree (Platanus platyphyllos) is a cultivated hybrid and widely distributed in Europe as an urban and park tree; it reaches a height of 20–35 m with a trunk diameter of 1.0–1.5 m. Its distinctive feature is the grey to olive-grey-cream mottled, flaky, peeling bark, while the wood is whitish to light pinkish-brown with a reddish-brown heartwood. With a density of approximately 560 kg/m³, it is moderately elastic and easy to work, but requires precise tool handling due to its interlocked grain and prominent flecks.
Plane wood is curious, restless, and difficult to satisfy with routine. It thrives on friction, change, and new experiences. This wood seeks movement in both thought and action and noticeably loses quality when forced into monotonous routines for extended periods.

It harmonizes best with people who are adventurous, mentally agile, and playful. Those who wear plane wood often react quickly to new situations and show a natural willingness to adapt or change their methods. This wood recognizes such openness and develops its greatest strength from it.

Its nature manifests in lively magic, a pronounced temperament, and a remarkable ability to adapt. Magic spells performed with it are often flexible and varied, especially when improvisation is required. Instead of rigid procedures, plane wood prefers dynamic leadership that responds to the moment.

This quality unfolds particularly clearly in changing situations. The wood learns, adapts, and, in interaction with its wearer, develops its own unique form of efficiency. Its magic rarely feels heavy or static, but rather fluid and often surprisingly precise.

However, if Platane is underutilized or forced into monotonous patterns, it loses its luster. In extreme cases, it even reacts with marked rejection, as if withdrawing from the situation. This characteristic is not a flaw, but an expression of its nature.

In the right bond, a magic wand is created that works dynamically and constantly evolves. Platane rewards curiosity and change – and makes magic something that is not only used, but continually rediscovered.
