Description
Thestrals are winged, dark creatures that can only be seen by those who have consciously experienced death. Despite their appearance, they are considered calm and easily controlled. Their behavior is balanced and not very aggressive. They do not attack without provocation and, with sufficient experience, can be reliably guided. Thestrals possess a good sense of direction and are used, among other things, as draft animals. Their hair is rare and used only to a limited extent. The magic associated with it is considered precise and focused. It does not tend to produce unnecessary fluctuations and is particularly suitable for applications where accuracy and reliability are more important than maximum strength.
Thestral hair works quietly and without visible fluctuations, a quality that only becomes truly appreciated after working with it for an extended period. The magic is precise and focused, taking effect exactly where it is directed, and remaining free of unnecessary side effects. This makes it reliable in applications where clean execution is paramount, not maximum effect. However, its stability is limited: the material holds its line well as long as the direction is clear, but begins to give way more quickly than more robust cores when uncertain. In practice, this means that errors are neither amplified nor mitigated. Healing magic is less suited to it, not due to inability, but because it lacks the necessary alignment, while it works solidly and with control in charms. Its heightened affinity for darker energies manifests not as an urge, but as an accessibility – it does not resist these applications. In handling, the material is calm and easily guided. Its low temperament ensures that no impulsive reactions occur and allows for consistent work even over extended periods. Loyalty is present and stable, without being binding in the strict sense – it remains as long as the leadership is consistent. Nonverbal magic and transformation operate in the middle range and benefit primarily from the clear focus of the material, not from additional reinforcement. Overall, a core emerges that demands little attention but requires sound leadership: unobtrusive in behavior, precise in execution, and most reliable where control is more important than pressure.
